New discs already warped!

Why would you believe some mechanic from a fanboy tuner garage which doesn't even offer a warranty on it's work over a brake tech with over 40 years experience?

Haha, predictable response!

I dont, he showed me what he thought it was, I changed them with a mate and all was fixed, he didnt even charge me for diagnosis, you are just a guy on the internet, dont take offense or cry or anything but you are :)

I dont think main dealer technicians will bother with DTi gauges when they come out with 'the disks are warped and you need new ones Mrs Jones', so using the correct diagnosis equipment would be one reason.

I think I even put a link up to that StopTech article up here those many years ago. I dont need to disprove anything, I have made no claims that require evidence to back up. Plus I can charge a decent rate for anything relating to automotive advice so why I have to give it out for free to some magazine reading regurgitator, I dont know?

OT, but what's a "Bodyshop technician" and what sort of work do they do?

Unless of course that just a posh name for "Fitter" :o.

Well he did fitting and panel beating to start off with and did paint and prep for most of his time there, so Bodyshop Technician would be the best all encompassing name.

Should be able to tell if your caliper is sticking, jack the car up and try to spin the wheel over, should be able to feel if its sticking then.

The weather is meant to improve to a staggering 5degress around here on Sunday so I will don my overalls and give all the suggestions ago. Will strip off the brakes and check out the mentioned points. Will post an update after all this.

Also need to do an oil change, just too cold to be lying on the floor under the car at the moment.

Cheers.

I haven't had the wheels and brakes off yet due to the weather.
Did do 10ish 60-5mph heavy on the brakes and if anything the problem got worse as the brakes got hotter. Does that seem plausible?

I still intend to strip everything down to double check, read through the Haynes and it mentions winding the rear calipers in and lining up some marks. I obviously wound them In when fitting the new pads but didn't line up this mark.

I'll scan in the page from the Haynes when I'm on my PC.

Cheers.
