Hello. Bought a DS yesterday for £105 with Mario Kart, great to see Block Fort and Banshee Broadwalk in there, i felt 16 again! (Shame there's no DK Jungle Park)

Anyway its a great game but i am wondering if there is anything that isn't initially obvious to get the best out of the DS? For example, there isn't a way to configure the buttons at all? The A button for accelerate is a bit cramped, would prefer it to be the Y button, can't be changed can it?

Any tips and tricks for the hardware side, any add-ons or extras that are a must (I know about the revolution)?

Mainly i wanted to ask what have we got in the future to look forward too?

Is there going to be a new Pro Evo? A Timesplitters? Any Star Wars games? A Civ game? Silent hill? What are people waiting on, in which direction is the HH going?

Thanks! :D

No, I don't think you can change the controls, but the Mario Kart manual might know better.

As for games... Zelda: Twilight Princess is due in October. I for one can't wait.

Excellent!

Forgot about Zelda.

Any news on a Street Fighter?

I recently bought myself a DS Lite too with Mario Kart, Brain Training and Nintendogs.

It's great fun so far and I'm impressed with the battery life for the most part as well as the design.

Charged for less than 3 hours, played for more than 6 already!

Great stuff so far!

New Super Mario Bros
Sonic Rush
Super Mario 64 (If you didn't play the original on the N64)
Final Fantasy III
Brain Training

Some games coming out soon that look good are Sonic Rush Adventure and Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. Pro evo 2008 is coming out in the end of september.

If your into RPGs then Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker looks quite stunning. It really is as pretty as the screenies suggest. ;)

Couple of star wars games out and they aren't too bad actually 1 more coming sometime later.

No streetfighter announced yet so like vonhelmet said you can try to find a gba copy of that.

meh , i cant talk about ma DS really i spend loads on games , play em for about 2-3 hours then never go back to them :( after a while the DS makes my hands ache! only game i go back to is Animal Crossing

I've recently bought Mario Kart (well exchanged for Pro Evo 6, horrible just horrible) and I'm really enjoying it. It's extremely fun, smooth and has all the gameplay aspects I remember from the N64 version.

Yeah i love the retro tracks, although i never had a GBA, but the N64 tracks rock. Just missing one or two of the great ones which are a shame.

TBH, i'd have accepted a straight port from N64!

I'm not a fan of the setup either, it does knack after a while, especially MK, the A button is just wrong.

Aye!

Looks like a straight port from S2, which would be great.

Shame Sim City got such a poor write up, although AOE got a decent score.

How can you buy a gameboy/DS without getting pokemon ? Isn't that a sin ? :p :D

Never been a fan of poemon, in fact i hated it with a passion, especially when it was the craze.

Don't know if i could ever get away with playing a game of it, even if it were spot on.

ROtS gets a decent score, i might sample that at some stage.

Woulds of thought SF:II would have been planned by now, i see Mortal Kombat is around the corner though.

Its a shame Pro Evo gets such a poor write up by everyone, not a FIFA fan either, so lets hope the next one is much improved.

Saying that, the 360 version wasn't anything special either.
