This is my spec.

DS3 (F10 Bios)
E6400
2 Gig Geil Ultra Low 4.4.4.12 twin Kit
550W PSU
8800 GTS OC
2 WS320 K SATA Drives on SATA 1 & 2

I started looking around the Bios and recognised all the menus so i suppose that could be called a start

I tried a simple over clock on just the FSB (285) but the computer just just cycles itself on then off.
i can get a dizzy 280 without problems :D

Standard 3D Mark 03 i get 28,714 points (11,322 Clocked @ 280fsb! )

None of the chip sets have been upped on volts?.

What i would be happy to see is maybe 2.8 Gig?. :)

i have read through the sticky on the DS3 but get confused with some of the suggested posts.

Any tips...

Well ive adjusted the settings and now ive managed 298FSB :)

Only problem in Ortho im getting 68 Degrees of temp?.

all the settings are as recomended in the Sticky.

Think id better get the temp sorted before i go further.

A happy note tho'.... its started to clock

That combo shoud do 3.2ghz easily, just up the fsb to 400

Thanks for the encouragement

just cranked the FSB up another 50+

Boots fine but I’m worried about that stock cooler. The cpu temp is now the same at idle as it is bench marking?.

Please feel free to tell me of im doing something wrong?.

Here are my cpu-z screen dumps

Looks fine, shhot straight for 400.

Could so with a decent cooler tho, i got a Freezer 64 and its knocked almost 20 degrees off what i was getting with the stock cooler.

What Geil RAM do you have? If its the low latancy stuff then set it to 4-4-4-12

Yes its the 4.4.4.12 stuff.

Ill get a Freezer 7 Pro and then clock it properly.

Yep get a AC7 and some AS5 paste. Crank it up to 400x8 and the ram multi to 2.5. In the bios in power management set the fan to legacey and the second option to pwm to get your fan running full speed. Put the cpu volt to 1.35v ram to 2.1v and you will get 2.8 easy with your ram running at stock. Also press ctrl and f1 when you first enter bios and set the ram timing to 4-4-4-12. If it doesent work try some diffrent bios revs as i know when i used F9 bios on my DQ6 it locked up.
