Hi there, I currently have the Nikon D3200 and am looking to upgrade, as Im starting to use it for video a lot and its really not a great camera to work with, what with all the slow AF and the noise it makes.

So Im looking for a good DSLR or CSC to replace it with, it basically needs to have a fast and responsive AF that makes very little to no noise, but still takes brilliant looking stills. My price range is £300-£700. the only camera I have currently found is the Canon 70D (that I can get use over £700) with its "Dual Pixel CMOS AF technology" I have seen test footage its super fast, rarely hesitates and is silent. However is this the only camera that has this function?, does anyone know of one just as good that isn't over £700?

Thanks for your help, and please don't reply telling me to just use manual focus! :D

While DSLR's are certainly getting better at autofocus, are you sure you need a DSLR? What are you filming?

The 650d and 700d have very stunted earlier versions of continuous AF but the 70d definitely has a much better AF. The 7dmk2 also has the same or improved video AF but that's out of your price range and you'd lose the touchscreen anyway.

Not really sure you need a DSLR for video (camcorders no good?) since that's not really my area but the 70d is the only DSLR with decent video AF.

There's other cameras like Sonys etc that probably have half decent video AF since they don't have the same limitations as a proper DSLR (prism etc) but I'm not sure how the AF compares there.

Thank you for the replies so far! I need it to be a DSLR/CSC because I need to be able to take good photos to. Video to Photo ratio is about 1:2 so ill be using it a little more for photos than video. Ill just be filming an outing im going on with friends. Documentary sort of style which means I don't have time before each shot to set a manual focus point etc etc. Is there any Compact System Camera's that have really good AF? Could really do with someone reading this that has bought something that im after :P

Any of the m43 cameras are good for video, especially the Panasonic cameras. Also great for stills, equal image wuality to the Canon 70D so you wont give up much there.
