New dual GPU ATI card in 2010

ATI don't hang about, can very well see a 6000 based dual GPU out this year, be interesting to see if nvidia have anything planned in regards to a dual card.

If Nvidia do make a dual GPU card, it will almost certainly be based on the GF104 (Currently in the GTX460).

Just grant me one thing ATI.

Good drivers.

Indeed, ATI have the hardware down to a T at the moment but the drivers after 10.4 have got steadily worse.

If it was ATI making the hardware with nvidia doing the drivers + game support for it, crossfire users would actually smile for the first time since purchasing their cards lol.

Yeah but not necessarily based on a 460, remember they have other GF104 cards in the works that are faster than a 460.

The other 460 is going to be 15-20% faster, its not going to come close to a 5870, let alone 2x5870 slightly downclocked for no other reason than the 300W pci-e spec, let alone 2x6870 slightly downclocked for no other reason than the 300W spec.

Depending on exactly how much of a speed boost they'll get, a 6970 could be pushing twice the speed of a 384sp gf104 dual card.

5870 to 6870 performance boost is likely going to be 35-45%, the 460 to 475gtx is a 15% shader bump, because of the power usage a dual gf104 is actually a lot more likely to be either 2x475gtx downclocked, or 2x460gtx's.
