Hi guys,

I am looking to invest in some new monitors. Basically I am considering either 23/24/27inch. I think if I were to go with 2x27inch they would have to be 1440p.

A couple of 27inch I have been looking at are the Dell U2713HM and the Asus PB278Q. I will be using them for mostly general use and some gaming.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated :)

Thanks

Just be aware that some find gaming on dual monitor setups frustrating because gun sights etc are automatically centred on the middle of the bezles

Personally I would go with Dell's although there have been a lot of reports of them shipping out old stock recently

Thanks for the responses.

I should probably add that I will only be gaming on one of them.

Also if people have better suggestions it does not HAVE to be 27inch :)

I have been looking at the Dells for a while but they backlight bleeding, image retention etc worries me.

Thanks

Luck of the draw really.

I picked up a 2312HM the other day and I don't have any backlight bleed whatsoever. It's quite incredible considering you normally get some.

Did the test last night in a pitch black room and couldn't see any at all.

Hmmm....I have a 27 inch ASUS and around the edges of the screen there is a slight issue with a little bleeding...but to be honest i dont really notice it at all ....But I do know its there , mind you saying all that I would have no issue in buying a 2nd 27 inch monitor ..if i had the cash :D

I think I would be the same. The reports just worry me!

Anyone know what its like gaming on one monitor out of a dual monitor setup? Any problems with windowed mode etc..

Thanks

I use a two monitor eyefinity display group for general browsing, but only game on one.

Some games will automatically mirror on both monitors, some will stretch across the middle.

I now just disable the group for watching videos/gaming, and turn one monitor off.

Is disabling the group easy to do?

Sounds like a good option though.

Cheers :)

Right click desktop
Open CCC
Eyefinity display groups
Disable Eyefinity group
Turn off one monitor

Takes less than 1 minute, and restoring it is much the same, plus it remembers your bezel correction settings

Thanks again for the response.

I've also read that you can do this with a preset which sounds like it will make it even quicker.

I guess this would work quite well for dual monitors and gaming.
