Heya there,

I'm new at this really....and would value any comments tips or opinions on the following :

Running a new e6400, p5b deluxe, tuniq tower, 2 GB Geil RAM in a P180 case....

I'm concerned by the CPU temperature as read by Speedfan - 55 to 60 degrees. I realise this is taken from the diode behind the CPU socket - should I be worried about it being this high, when all of the other temps seem ok to me?

My RAM is running 1:1 at 12-4-4-4. Sadly I had to give it 1.4v in the BIOS - as ORTHOS and my whole system totally froze at 1.375v. CPU idles at 27 - 30 degrees - not bad for air!

Any help, tips or comments very greatly appreciated.

Thank you :)

Hi there

I benched my E6400 today at 3.4ghz with stock cooling but Orthos failed after hour n half....the pc just froze

Probably get away with 3.2 will try that tonight before I hit the sack and see if its still going in the morning.

the temps very steady at 70c using core temp

Orthos isnt the real test ive found - on its own.

Run Dual core orthos and also run SuperPi 8m+ whilst playing winamp + RM Bench

Really shows me the difference between "stable" and "100% Stable"

i cant get my E6400 to run that @ 3.2Ghz for love nor money.

Nice :D

I don't really want or need to push mine past 3.2GHz as the difference will be negligible. And I don't want to suck myself into the whole benchmarking trap again :D

with my old mobo, i could barley hit 2.4Ghz, and my ram had to run at DDR2-400. So i want to rationalize the amount of money i spent on a new one with a hefty overclock!

6hrs prime stable at 3.3Ghz, tamps are 52-53 under load, so there is still some room to push higher. :)
