new E8400 first overclock

E8400, dfi lanparty dk t2rs, 2gb ballistix 1066, 8800gts 512.
currently at 3.8ghz (1.2v) with ram at 506mhz(1012) (2.2v)

this is my first real attempt at overclocking, so would appreciate advice on any improvments i could make on the above, or point out any mistakes lol. so far it seems ok i will be going for 4ghz once i get a tuniq tower

Is that on the stocker cooler?

no its a freezer 7 pro im using at the mo
it seems stable at the moment, ive been running prime 95 for 2 hrs now no problems and have also run 3d mark 06 a couple of times.
before i got to this point it would crash or reboot within 15 mins of running prime 95 untill i added a bit more voltage

i forgot to add i get 12.297s superPI 1M and 13369 3dmark 06 (stock gts)

my core voltage has increased overnight to 1.24 by itself could this be a 'settling in' thing? i havnt changed anything in the bios since yesterday. cpuz was showing 1.200v last night and today its 1.248v. weird.

just checked the bios and thats showing 1.24 as well?

got it at 475x8 and 1:1 ratio, i dont understand much about ratios ect. i take it 1:1 is better than 5:6??. also does running it at 8x have any benefits?

got it at 4ghz now, it seems stable at that so far. several hours of prime 95, a couple of 3dmark 06 runs and an hour of crysis and no problems yet.
