Just upgraded the graphics card in my wifes machine to a EVGA SSC 970, at 1080p inall games there is a very very very slight flickering, you can see it mainly on solid colours, it is very annoying.

I have tried changing the monitor for a spare we have, changed the VGA lead, resintalled the drivers, still the same, any ideas?

Her PSU is a Coolermaster GX 550, her old MSI 580 twin frozr card was fine.

What is the screen refresh rate set in Nvidia Control panel and what is the screen refresh on the monitor ?

I had a very similar problem. The only fix I found was use a different input.

I was using one of them wide ones that has to be screwed in (might be vga not sure) and I changed it to hdmi and it was gone. The picture quality was a hell of a lot better aswell. I even bought a new monitor thinking it was the monitor... It wasn't.

So try a HDMI cable. You could try it on your TV if it's not got a HDMI input.

I am using a DVI to VGA adaptor, as the monitor does not have a HDMI input, did change the adaptor for another but was still the same, I have ordered a DVI to DVI cable that should arrive today, will see if that fixes the problem, thanks guys

try it in your TV. that worked for me, i was amazed at the difference in the quality going from vga to hdmi. that change is like getting a new gpu alone.
