New Family

After a new family car, probably an SUV but also been looking at a Civic.

Does anyone have any views on good family SUVs. Wife wants to buy brand new and looking at a budget of 40k-45k max.

Am I mad for considering a Civic?

We are not fussed on shape of car, boot space is main concern and seems roughly similar on the SUVs we have looked at compared to Civic, for example a ZR-V and Civic have roughly same boot capacity with back seats up, unless I have missed something. Sportage seems a fair bit bigger though.

Wife wants an SUV though so trying to find a decent one, I like the new Civic which is why I am trying to justify it in my head.
