New Fans Not spinning!

I have a fractal 3000 case.

I'm using the default fan controller which comes with the case, which controls up to 3 fans.

The case comes with;

2 X140MM (Intake at front, outake at top)
1x120MM (Outake at the back)

Connected them, they all work fine.

I bought another 120mm for the front, connected, it works fine.

Decided to go ahead and buy another two 140mm, one for the side and another for the top.

I have also purchased fan splitters where needed. Here's where it gets tricky.

So for each of the oriignal fan controller 3 pin connectors, i attached a splitter. turning 3 into 6.

The front two fans work fine, no problem with the splitter.

The top 2 fans are attached to the same splitter, the oriignal fan that came with the case is working, but, the new one isn't.

The same happens for the last splitter. Oriignal works, new one on the side doesn't.

Im guessing, there isn't enough power to power them all at once?

Is there any quick solution for this?

The fan controller is connected to the PSU via Molex Connection.

Quick update.

Connected them all back up again using splitters etc.

The fans that didn't move, i used my finger to spin and theyve seemed to start working for some reason?

Im guessing this is still a power issue?

Turning fan controller up to 100% all fans start no problem.

Is there any way around this other than, turn upto 100% at boot, then power down.

Or buy another fan controller?

It's because you're using splitters, not enough juice to get them going.

I'd just start them at 100% and turn them down

Yeah, thats what i've done.

Although, i can tell that the newer fans arent spinning as fan as the original, when set at lowest speed.

Might just disconnect one of the new ones for the time being. Question is which.

Lost an outake at the top, or lose an intake at the side?

At a guess I'd say that the Fractal fan controller is purely designed to drive the stock fans and gives no headroom for fitting other fans. Not much you can do about this apart from adding your own fan controller.

Can get away with 5 on it i think.

3X140mm
2x120mm

Will leave one of the top fans disconnected (One closest to front) for time being. Leave the side intake going. Keeps the GFX cooler i suppose!

Edit: Just done the impossible job of switching fans that are screwed in with rubber mounts! Should have done that before instlling all my hardware! One hell of a job that was!
