New File FTP Server What Software for Setup and Remote Control

Ok basically this is going to be my first ftp server what I want to know is what software everybody uses for there ftp setup I dont want anything too expensive and free is always good but I dont mind paying out for something worthwhile.

Also I want to be able to control the server remotely and over the network from my main computer what sotware shall I use for this?

for taking control of the server, you can use Remote Desktop, built into Windows XP Professional or Windows Server

if you're running a server on XP Home / Media centre you can download a programme called VNC to do it. We use Real VNC / Ultra VNC depending on our clients at work so they should suit fine

as for FTP software, ive used both Serve FTP and Bulletproof FTP (both have free limited versions, or you can get a code to upgrade it to the proper versions) in the past without problems.
