Hi,

Recently posted a different spec (mickyflinn kindly passed on some

advice!), recently spent a lot of time revising it and largely

expanding the budget!! hahaha. Think I'm then going to compare the

costs of both machines vs firepower hahaha.

First self built machine, looking for some experienced views on

the components and expansibility -

CASE - NZXT Phantom 410 Case

MEMORY - Samsung/Kingston 500GB SSD

RAM - Crucial Ballistix BLS2C8G3D18ADS3CEU Sport XT 16GB (8GBx 2)

240 Pin DIMM DDR3 PC3-14900 Memory Module

MOTHERBOARD - MSI Z97 Gaming 7 Intel LGA1150 Z97 ATX Motherboard

(4x DDR3, 10x USB3.0, 6x USB2.0, GBE, LAN, HDMI, DP)

PSU - Corsair Builder Series CXM 600W Modular 80 PLUS Bronze

Certified ATX/EPS PSU

PROCESSOR - Intel Core i5 i5-4690K CPU (Quad Core 3.5GHz

Processor, 6MB Cache, Intel HD 4600 Graphics, Socket H3 LGA-1150)

You'll note no graphics card! Any recommendations with that setup?

Any recommended improvements on the psu? (or anything!) aiming for a qualityy inexpensive machine to run (power

consumption etc?)

Right I have another bizarre compatibility question. I have a

weird fascination with the pentium g3258 processor. Would the

above modem run fine with it? What are the considerations, what

would I need to do to make it work? (socket size is 1150).

Also, with skylake on the horizon (which is one of the reason I

ask the above). Is it worth holding off building the machine for

a time? Or would you expect I can simply replace the chosen

processor as skylake will incorporate an 1150 socket? Did a bit of

research and it looks like it wont be compatible.

Digging through some of the fantastic resources on the site seeing if I can improve on it ..

Is a sufficient answer 1080p full hd? thats pretty much all i know of resolutions but yeah, monitor is just 1080p.

The psu you've suggested, is that because the Corsair Builder Series CXM 600W Modular 80 PLUS Bronze I was looking at lets the build down a bit?
