Hey All,

Just a small post after Joining,

Going to attempting the first tomorrow overclock, and just wanted to say 'Hi' and give a few details. I have been trawling through the net & these forums for god knows how long and reading lots of guides.

I have (system wise)

E8400 (E0)
S.Ninja Plus B + AC 5 Paste(idle temps @ 18 degrees C) (3.0Ghz)
GA-P35-DS3R Motherboard
4GB Kingston 8500 1066mzh Ram (2x2gb)

Going to try and push it up to 4ghz tomorrow and possibly further if stable & temps are good!

If anyone has a similar setup and overclocked, please share what you have done, or have any links to a similar setup which I could find useful! - I'll post some results tomorrow!

Conrad.

Well I have completed the overclock! After many hours, and many sticky notes with successful and unsuccessful attempts...I now have my E8400 @

E8400 -> 4.16 Ghz - Idle 38, Max 56 - Cooled by Scythe Ninja + B

achieved through: 522*8

Core voltage - 1.34 - 1.36 (max) - I'm 99% sure this is safe (please please correct me if not) In CPUz it shows 1.34 When running Orthos (processor maxed) - but when not it jumps between 1.34 and 1.36 (any ideas with this)
In bios the vcore is 1.40625 or something like that (not at the pc right now so cant get an exact figure)

Ram @ 1:1 currently (slightly underclocked from 1066 (motherboard recognises it as 800mhz for a strange reason) - but i did have trouble getting it stable - Ram is at 2.2V 5-5-5-15 (manufacturer settings for this timing) - If anyone has any tips, then please let me know!

This was given the thumbs up from Orthos -> 12 hours ran, no errors at all!

If anyone has anything that is seriously wrong and could destroy something let me know - Other than that - I am enjoying my new found speed in FSX.

Conrad

Are you using an auto vCore setting in your bios? I would normally used a fixed self set value in this case.
