New five pound note

We had theese issued here in northern Ireland a good few years ago now. Quite durable and pretty flexible.

I am sure there are ways of creating a cashless society that still retains the anonymity and untracability of cash.

But it will never be allowed to happen.

The nearest we have got to this is Bitcoin (and wasn't the Bitcoin man arrested and charged with something recently?)

A mainstream electronic system of anonymous and yet secure exchange that everybody can use will never happen.

You weren't asking me but I'm going to answer.

I don't care! It really doesn't bother me in the slightest if [for example] the Coca Cola company or Ford, or Walmart know that I've just been over the road, bought six bottles of beer and four Mars bars. Seriously, I really don't give a hoot.

/edit - I've just watched your video. Wow. I hope that happens! That means that once a week, I won't need to order pizza, they'll just assume I want it and deliver automatically. Awesome :D

Just let the corporatocracy flow through thee, it tastes deliciously stale.
 
If it's anything like the aussie dollars then I think it's absolutely wonderful. Hate the tatty paper notes get after they have been in your pocket for a while.

Can't wait to see these new £5 notes.
