New ford focus RS

Ref the earlier interior debate, the interior in my mates C63 is woeful. It reminds me of a Vauxhall Astra every time I get in it.

You have a pre or post facelift?

You know you have to post pics. The C63 will be my next car!

You say that (using the confused smiley) as if it is totally normal, when you know full well the amount of "youngster" that can afford £25k+ cars is tiny.

No, I never said every young person can afford one. I said my peer group. Whom have worked hard and saved, haven't got kids, don't drink and a nice car is how they like to spend money.

I don't have a "nice" car at all. I have a Ford Fiesta. Could I buy a "nice" car, yes. Do I have the inclination to. No.

It looks worse than it actually is - when you are sitting inside and can feel the controls and hear how quiet the cabin noise is, it's not too bad. e.g. That car has done 93k miles and the steering wheel leather still looks pretty good.

It's as believable as it being similar to an Astra.

To be fair it isnt the quality thats like an Astra but the aesthetics - the centre console design with the plethora of buttons does look uncannily similar to the Mk5 Vauxhall Astra (As it does in the W212 E Class as well). It's part of a number of things that just made that shape C Class feel a bit downmarket.

This generation of Mercedes (C and E Class) really lost its way with regards to the interior - the models before them were class leading in interior design. The build was spot on - I had a W212 for a weekend and it was wonderfully put together - it just looked crap.

Happily Mercedes have recognised this - the current C Class has the best interior in its class by some margin and looks fantastic, ipad on the dash aside, and the new E Class is also stunning - better than the F10 5 Series and anyone who knows me will know thats high praise indeed :D

He said he's been in his mate's car. I'm sure he's had a go on his knob and felt the click.

You're telling me you think the centre console on this looks like it belongs in a flagship vehicle? All the plastics in it are terrible throughout the entire car.

2008 is ancient, 2011 facelift is what i'm referring to.
