New Frame (2008 Zaskar!)

This has just arrived in reception for me!

Looks amazing.. i've wanted a Zaskar for so long.... can't wait to build it up.

Mm lovely. I sold me 97 zaskar

corrected geometry for 100mm forks too iirc. winner in silver. good buy amigo. happy riding. (though get some decent padded shorts and a nice saddle as they are quite a firm ride!)

Zaskars were dream bikes. Light enough for XC, tough enough for DH and also used for dirt jumping. (see Hans Rey)

There's tonnes of nicer rides out there but the Zaskar is a true classic. One for the bike-geek crew. I'm fairly sure that most with a passion for bikes would have had (or lusted over) a Zaskar at some point. You only have to look on auction sites to see the prices these frames still command.

Plain and simple, it's a classic.

So it's a standard mountain bike frame? What will you do with that then? Fit your own shocks and chainset etc?

This is a proper 6061 tubed USA made Zaskar like the originals, the new Zaskars are all Taiwan made I believe.

GT have made 500 of these special 20th anniversary reissues, they are basically classic Zaskars but with geometry for 100mm forks and disk tabs.

I'm planning on doing it up as a single speed, with some yellow Rebas.

it's unboxed and i'm very happy!

a ball burnished Zaskar was my dream bike as a child, looks like I can finally build it up to be as I wanted.

So, I need a KORE stem, Judy SL's, hmm. What to do about brakes to keep it retro?

Love it! I had the yellow Judy SL's back in the day. HS33's and X317's, USE post, flight saddle, flourecent pink lycra....ok I am getting carried away!
