New FS rules & links sticky

I think the respect aspect needs emphasised but looking around it's mainly just a few people in the SPL threads sadly. In fact I'd be tempted to suggest that for the SPL clubs anything other than either the official club name or the shortening of it as per sports reports and maybe official club nickname is all that should be allowed to prevent the nonsense that is C*ltic/Sellick/Ragers etc etc - first transgression gets a warning, second a suspension or something like that. Also no mention of anything other than the football e.g. past transgressions of the club personnel is not a subject to be discussed. I'd love not to have to suggest this but if we as a group of fans can't be trusted to behave responsibly then punitive measures need to be taken I suspect.

I'd believe the below are the official websites for all the SPL clubs in case you want to add them too.

Cheers for the links:)

I'm not sure about restricting the sour nicknames, altough they're annoying to some I doubt think they're as bad as using terms like "Scum" and there's plenty of names allowed for English teams, Chelski for example.

The restrcition of past alledged transgressions is a great idea, I think that should definitely be implemented :)

Past alleged transgressions- Where would the line be drawn?

I.e. Mutu's misbehaviour never to be mentioned even though he was charged or Rooney's mischief- because it was never brought to punitive measures- would remain unspoken of?

I do agree with a focus on football but the 'transgressions' rule would have to be clearly defined.

It's more to address the nonsense that goes on in the SPL thread whenever the Old Firm lock heeds ;)

Fair enough on the nicknames, it always seems quite startlingly petty to me but I can live with it, I've managed for the past 20+ years. :)

It's really quite specific to the SPL threads and without going into it in too much depth tends to centre about allegations of abuse by Celtic Boys Club but there are counter claims about misdemeanours by Rangers etc and frankly it's all unnecessary as it is only used as a means of berating the other teams fans.

I think it would be easily solved by banning the posters responsible as it is the same few Rangers fans each and every time.

Fans (and I use the term loosely) from both sides continue in the pettiness so I don't want to single out one side or the other, neither is blameless and it's unfortunate because it discourages other fans who have no interest in the pointless blaming and name-calling that goes on. Some Old Firm fans manage to be perfectly civil to the other side so I don't want to give the impression that they're all bad but I don't see why the rest of us should have to put up with the dross that fills these threads when it adds nothing to them - I've heard most of the stories and allegations over the years as I'm sure most fans of Scottish football have and they're despicable but that doesn't mean I want to hear them brought up again and again in some spiteful point scoring exercise.

Rangers and Celtic fans are as bad as each other.

Never had any real problems with the English Footie lot.

Just remind people of what the rules were.

I don't feel there's much/any abuse in the English footie threads, rarely see a real argument

Just when the mancs play, they win a big game and closet mancs come out of woodwork, they lose and others appear from nowhere to wind them up ( after all it's the regulars who should have 1st dibs on this ) :D
