Hi all,

I don't know where to turn with my question really.

I have a Fuji Finepix F70EXR only used for about 2 weeks and unfortunately it was dropped so the lens won't protrude any more, it just gives an error similar to "lens cover can't open" then turns off again.

Is there a way of getting it repaired? If so where should I begin to look for quotes?

thanks.

First of all I would contact Fuji and see what the cost of a typical repair would be. The problem with compact cameras is that sometimes the parts and labour charges actually amount to a significant amount, so it becomes uneconomic to repair.

There are quite a few repair companies out there, case of googling, I doubt it will be cheap though.

I think fujifilm have a "refurbished" cameras sales web page - they may give you some discount for a swap against one of these? I did that with a camera my daughter broke a while ago which wasn't ecomonic to repair?

good point Mel, never thought of that! but i do echo that P&S depending on their value are not worth trying to repair and the cost could go towards a nice upgrade. Its a shame that its only 2 weeks old!
