so here's what ive built let me know what you think...

i7 860 @ 2.8 Ghz
Zalman 1156
ASUS MAXIMUM FORMULA III
8GB Kingston 1600 DDR3 (4 sticks at 2GB)
Radeon 5770 ( two of these )
LITEON Blue Ray DVDROM
1TB HDD (cant remember the model)
Antec 1200 case
1KW power supply

Logitec WavePro keyboard and mouse

Windows 7 Home

I say ive built it but, ive just ordered my processor and memory they will arrive tomorrow.

My question is, how do i overclock? i know this processor can be clocked over 3Ghz.

also how do i install my two cards as a Crossfire? do i just plug em in and turn it on and the software does the rest?

ive never had two graphics cards at once...

thanks again..

IIRC, the crossfire system require a wire connecting between the two of them. It should have been supplied with your cards...

Then, if your hardware is all correct, it should be a simple matter of turning it on in CCC...

All my info is purely theoretically and basically, what I have learnt off the site. It may be best to wait for a learned poster.

yes i have the cable... what do u mean by ccc? are u on about in the software supplied or in the bios? lol

Catalyse Control Center... its a software supplied... However, you would be better off going to the ATI website and downloading all the latest drivers and versions of software.

And I assume you know where to connect this cable?

yes lol the top of both cards to join them together...

thanks for the advice... if im honest i read up about the graphics cards decided on ati rather than nvidia and also went for pentium just for a change from amd lol

yes a lot of money but its my treat for myself as i havent had a pc in a while and well ive just been promoted so what the heck lol...

8Gb of ram lol i used to have 1Gb on my old games pc.. lol

i want to run crysis and arma on this system at full hopefully i will :-)

lol thanks,

i hope the 2 5770 cards do the trick :D

my board can go up to 16GB but i will have to wait for the 4GB sticks to come out, or are they already out i havent looked lol

im now itching to get modern warfare 2 on the pc rather than my ps3 lol who knows?

thanks again for the input... i will post a picture up soon :-)

Ditch the Logitech Wave board, get a G15 (or newer G19 but that's pretty expensive) instead. And get a MX518 (or newer G500). And get MW2 on PC!

Looks like a great build there mate, I'm currently building the same atm :) Getting parts each month. I'm planning on getting 8gb ram to as I don't think 4gb cuts it. I know it more than enough but I like to have head room :P I would change the ram tho tbh mate and look at these. Very nice looking, will go will the board me and you are getting and low timings. http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-026-PA&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=1517

Have you looked at the H50? Great watercooling kit for such little price. Supports socket 1156 now aswell. I just mine yestaday and it looks huge lol. I would have a look at it mate.

The gfx cards you got look like a great buy, sure they will play mw2 no problems. Overall, looks like me and you are going to have a fine build fella ;)

Last thing, 1k Psu is a bit of an overkill. I'm getting a 850w Psu hx from Corsaid to power everything you have got but with 2 4890's. Overall tho bud, looks fantastic.

EDIT: I would look into another keybaord like other people have said, G15 is a great keyboard. And mabey a razer nouse of the new g500 is a good buy.

hey up people,

my cousin told me to get 4GB of ram as that would do just nicely, however there's four slots why not use them :) so i did. 8BG YUM YUM!! ha ha

graphics cards, well im not going to be getting MW2 on the pc im getting that for my ps3 so i can play online with my friends who dont have up to date pc's. However i have Crysis and will be getting some more power hungry pc games.

my keyboard lol no-one likes it? ill be honest with u now im using it at the min and it seems to be alright for me?

im in need of some surround sound for my setup, im probably going to go for logitech ... the one thats priced around about £250???

My stuff i ordered on friday didnt turn up today :'( because my card had a block on. DOH! me spending too much so they did the fraud thing to make sure it was actually spending wodds of money :) rather be safe than sorry though.

thanks again for all your replies

Looks like a nice pc mate, And either way you cant play your mates because of the fact that there is no dedicated servers anymore its just a matching system. I think there is no option to create partys e.t.c as well
