So I'll soon be building a new PC, my last build was 8 years ago which I used up until I got my Surface Pro 3 just over a year ago and I've used this as my sole PC since, it serves all my needs but I feel like getting back into PC gaming after such a long hiatus.
I also now own a DJI Phantom 3 Professional drone so I would like to be able to edit my 4k videos.
I've already decided I'm going to go for Ultra wide and have just received a Acer Predator X34 so will be running games at 3440x1440 so I will be going for a 980ti but I'm unsure which exact card to go for, I've always had a soft spot for EVGA.
I already have a Samsung 850 EVO 512GB SSD, 840 256GB SSD and I've already ordered a Intel Core i7-6700K 4.0GHz (Skylake) Socket LGA1151 Processor OEM while it was in the sale from OC.
I've gone with the Asus motherboard as I will want 2x gigabit and like the fact it has a USB type C connection as well as it's other features.
As for the RAM, I'm guessing 3000MHz 16GB is good enough? I'm tempted to go with a slightly higher MHz and maybe 32GB, but is it worth it?
Lastly, spec me a fan! So CPU's these days don't even come with a stock fan!
My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £1,358.86
(includes shipping: £0.00)
My budget is around £1500 but this is flexible if I'm severely lacking in one area.
I also need a new gaming headset, currently looking at the steelseries 800 (£200ish) which I'd like to keep in my budget.
Keyboard, mouse, Blu Ray drive and Windows are sorted already.
Any thoughts on this will be much appreciated!
