Hi all decided against the new consoles this gen and built myself a gaming pc from around 10 years away from pc gaming. Its all built with help from my mate and was thinking last night anywhere I can improve it slightly or something i might of missed?

Ryzen 3800x
B550 Asus gaming motherboard
16gb rgb corsair ram 3600mhz
msi gaming trio gtx 2070 super
m2 nvme wd blue hdd ****** was infact a M2 SSD i ordered :(
corsair hydro series h100 water cooler
corsair full module 750w PSU gold

Also with those specs how long until I might be looking to upgrade cpu/gpu? I get around 150/200fps in warzone on low settings which seems to be a very demanding game

Thanks

3700x is much better value for 3% less performance ,the m2 western digital has ssd speeds as I was reminded by Sparx :p so £15 more will get you full speed.

Nvidia due to release there new gpu soon so mite be worth waiting.

Already got the above system ..

So I could get a better M2 to run my games on then if that blue western digital not that great?

Could do in real terms only may be a second faster loading times but software may utilize the faster read write speeds in the future

As sparx said better to get a full speed m2 rather than ssd speed m2 .

Different thread this micky and bloke. @rchads89 don't bother changing the drive, the SSD is fine. Ignore micky I think he's got confused with another poster :p

You should be able to run COD MW at high/ultra settings at comfortable FPS with that rig. Crank the settings up? :p I have the same GPU and 3600X CPU and I have everything on Ultra or whatever it's called @ 1440p res and runs beautifully...

That rig should last you a good few years. CPU I doubt will need to be upgraded for a long time. If anything you might want the next gen of Nvidia or AMD graphics cards, which are due release late this year. But I wouldn't worry about it for now, until you start feeling like games aren't running as smoothly as they should at good settings. Just enjoy your rig

One main thing you haven't said, what monitor do you play on?

What monitor are you using? you have a 2070 Super and are playing on low which seems a bit odd.

Your PC should be fine for the next few years easy, good cpu and graphics card. SSD could be faster but you have an SSD which is better than nothing!

Im on 75hz right now but I am purchasing a 144hz next week. seems a dropped a little boo boo on the m2. sort of rushed into buying all the parts should have paid more attention! I only use mid/low on all games to be honest. What FPS do you get with ultra settings and 120FOV on warzone? I think its quite a demanding game to be honest I watched a clip on youtube and a i9 9900k and a 2080ti on low settings was only getting just over 200fps lol

Honestly don't worry, there isn't a difference at all in the real world for gaming, between SATA and NVMe SSDs. You're lucky if it's 1 second quicker loading maps, general gaming performance there is zero difference.

Why do you play low/mid when you've got such a powerful rig? It's similar to mine and I play everything max settings no problem with good FPS. :p

You don't need 200 fps either, as long as it's 60+ it should be fairly smooth. Ideally you want it around the 100-120fps region to take advantage of a high refresh rate monitor.

What monitor are you looking at getting? Just so we can make sure you don't get anything naff ;)

I was going to get the pci 4 sabrent rocket 5000 speeds am i wasting my money then?

Erm just a habbit mate to be honest ive always ran mid-low settings on games on the pc. high settings put me off to be honest i stand time looking at stuff when i should be shooting haha.

Monitor im not sure to be honest Ive seen the Asus 144hz monitor looks good and specs are good think it was like £180 . Im only really interested in 1080p 1920 x 1080 144hz :)

Powerful rig? I thought this was like mid range to be honest? like entry gaming at decent fps?

Thanks for the replys

No honestly, don't bother buying a new SSD - it will not improve your performance at all. Not one bit, you won't get more FPS and maps won't load quicker than the SATA SSD you have either.

So I guess you seem quite competitive in COD and happy @ 1080p with a good rig and high FPS even on low/med settings? You'd potentially like a 240Hz monitor then, if you really enjoy your competitive/FPS games?

You have a fairly powerful rig, it's not absolute top end no - but it's fairly high in the 'mid end' section then I'll call it. :p

Depends on your budget but have a look into them, might interest you.

AOC 24G2ZE/BK - not stocked by OcUK but if you search it, can find it about £280 at another retailer

I enjoy my shooters lol i wouldnt say im proper competitive player mind im still learning keyboard and mouse again from playing on controller for so long :( can't quite get the sensitivity right at the moment ive knocked it down to 400DPI and default sensitivity ingames.

I think on most games 144hz 1080p low/mid i should be hitting decent FPS ?

If you feel can play better on controller, can always use an PS/XB controller on PC :p

Don't forget can change the in-ame mouse sensitivty, rather than just the DPI to refine your mouse speed.

If you just want a solid 1080p monitor 144Hz refresh rate then I'd recommend the AOC 24G2U for £189.

Nice monitor that thanks, to be honest I always buy my monitors and hardware from am****. Just because the returns process is brilliant even if I got a monitor with say a dead pixel or stuck pixel they will even swap it out or refund!

Yeah the in-game sensitivity i try and keep default so i don't mess around with it as much im hoping that in-game sensitivity default is more or less same game to game

It's not the same at all lol - don't be afraid to change in-game sensitivity. It really helps ;)

Rainforest sells same monitor but it's £30 more. OcUK are usually helpful with any dead pixel issues but your call lol

I will have a look I have a Asus VG245H 75HZ monitor currently looking to sell it before I get a 144hz as i need to free up space for new monitor so im waiting for that to sell first. It was a awesome monitor for console gaming lol. I will have a look at ingame sensitivity I think back in the counter strike source days if I remember I played quite low sensitivity trying to get a feel for mouse and keyboard again is quite difficult well more difficult than i thought it would be!

What is your monitor or the resolution/ fps you wish to achieve in other games? here's my input
-Ryzen 3600 or 3700X - i would go with 3600 for better value and you can spend more on GPU
-any decent B550 or actually X570 TUF or Tomahawk boards are great for their price and future proofing
-2x8 3200 speed (anything above this the price to performance is bad)
-the gaming trio is an excellent card but more expensive than the gigabyte one- do you really want to splash out when new cards are just around the corner? get B grade 2070 super or even better 5700 XT from OCUK because they will sort you out if you have issues.
-any decent sata SSD - no point of nvme unless you like ascetics of no cables etc unless they are same price
-I am into water cooling but otherwise i would go with air cooling - i.e. Noctua D15 or Scythe Mugen
-any decent 600+ PSU

Other thoughts - case, mouse, keyboard, monitor, pad, custom cable mods, desk - there are a lot of other costs to consider for a build to give you a good experience.

If you go B-grade you will save a lot of money and OCUK usually provide 3 months warranty i think - but obviously proceed at your own risk- happy building
