Hi there guys I'm looking to build my new PC and looking to spend about 500/600 I don't care for ultra graphics settings but I also don't like 15FPS on low. Im looking for a computer that will handle almost every game perfectly around medium/high settings. I have a relatively rubbish gaming PC at the moment but looking to slowly upgrade it to a full new build. So looking for a decent motherboard/processor combo. Preferably a intel quad core and I can decide on a new case. Then from there I can replace my existing components. Any info would be great. Even if you think any full pre built systems would be good for me, I know its cheaper to build but I don't mind paying someone to do it for me!

Many thanks!

Welcome to the forum, Matt.

You can go with an Intel Skylake platform. i5 if planning on single graphics card. No benefits for gaming with i7, or hardly any. But you'd need DDR4 memory with it.

Or go for a slightly older Intel Haswell platform, where you can re-use your memory (if it's DDR3).

There'd be approximately 10% performance difference between the two, clock for clock.

How much and what DDR type memory do you have at present?

What PSU do you have at present?

You won't get much higher FPS till you replace the graphics card, assuming it no longer copes well with modern games.

So perhaps about the only thing you'd keep is a hard drive?

Please clarify whether it's £600 for everything, or excluding a new graphics card, for example.
