My r4 m17x Alienware laptop is starting to randomly turn off on me after a lightning storm not long ago. Before it goes completely pop, I want to spec up a new desktop.

Am interested if anyone knows any cheaper but comparative alternatives. I've included the monitor purely for the tiny bevel although the bevel looks bigger on youtube videos I've seen. Anyone got one?

A mechanical keyboard and little extras will probably take me to £1000.

The following I have and hope I can use:
ssd from my laptop (I checked it isn't causing the shut downs)
My artic cooler cpu fan that I used with this motherboard
Various case fans
DVD-RW and Internal HDD for storage

Have I left anything out?

Nice, thanks. For some reason the drop down list to make the claim only goes to the 7th of July, but I see the offer ends 3rd or October.
