New gaming computer help...

Hi everyone, I was recommended to this forum by a techy friend of mine; he said you could help me.

I’m looking for the ultimate gaming experience, with a maximum budget of £1900. I have a good keyboard, mouse, soundcard & speakers already, so I will only be needing a monitor and the computer.

I’m not very savvy at all in this field so I would be very thankful for any help you could give me.

Thank you for the very helpful quick responses.

Here's where I’m going to show my ignorance... is the 2mb GTX 680 better than the 3mb 7970? In my ditzy shallow mind I'm thinking "3mb sounds better than 2mb but the 680 is newer so I don't know -- headache". I clearly have no idea what I'm talking about.

Also, is it worth getting the i7 if you can afford it? For the demands of future games?
