Hi,
I've been doing some research on a new gaming laptop with a max budget of £900.
I like the look of the Lenovo Y510p,
but I would like to know how it would compare to the Lenovo Y50-70
as well as how it compares to the Asus G550JK-CN253H

Specifically I am interested in the differences between processors and graphics cards as these laptops are otherwise quite similar.
Thanks!

You should remove the competitor links mate.

Ignore the cpu differences, you will not notice any difference in day to day use, any of the haswell i7 cpu's are great.

Graphics wise the sli 750m are still pretty solid, although you may get some of the annoyances of SLI (micro stutter, lack of game support on certain titles). They are similar to the 860m in performance.

I would choose the 860m over the SLI due to lower power consumption and none of the SLI draw backs.

The 850m is a step down, especially the DDR3 version in the asus.

So the Y50-70 with the 860m is preferable you think?

I've read in other places that the screen can be an issue, where the screens being shipped can vary in quality. Do you know anything about this?

Yes, the panel is not great. It depends how fussy you are on the screen. For me the screen is one of the most important aspects which is why I bought the gs60 with 1080p ips panel (the same panel as in the G550JK
