current one is an LG 27 inch, mainly used for gaming at 2560 x 1440 res, however i am thinking on upgrading the pc, or building a new one capable of the latest games near 4k, not sure of the price range, possibly round £800 or more if possible, and i would want it bigger than a 27 inch, possilby 34 - 38 ? any gamers have a similar set up, opinions for desktop use ?

The Alienware DWF can be bought for around £850ish with a code. 34-inches, great panel and 165hz. The only reason you might not want it is due to the risk of burn-in. However, Dell does offer a 3-year burn-in warranty.

If your primary use is gaming this is the way.

dont think i would be a fan of the curved nature, ir is this the way now ? always played on flatscreen

my office recently upgraded all our monitors to a philips 34inch ultra wide curved and I absolutely love it, im so keen on it I want to get an ultrawide curved for home now, the extra screen space is amazing, its better than 2 x16:9 monitors imo ( which we previously used )

like you I didnt want a curved screen for home but now ive used one I think I prefer them.

Only problem with 34inch ultrawide is you have to sit bit further away otherwise it gets overwhelming.

You don't really notice the curve, but as others mentioned the Alienware QD-OLED 34" is about as good as it gets.

That's what the curve is for ;)

When I'm gaming mine is ~40cm away from my eyes & when working, maybe 50cm
