I have had a razer for a few months now from someone off the forums, is a fantastic mouse but has got worse and worse over the past few weeks, it is not at a point i woul drather use my touchpad on my laptop than use it

Sooooo i need a new gaming mouse, dont want to be spending a fortune on one, but if its going to last me a long time i dont mind spending a bit on one

So what are my options and what would you reccomend??

definatly wired yeah

i odnt know depends how good it is going to be and how long it will last me

£30 probably maybe alittle more im not sure :)

These are all good mice , I would say the Logitech MX510 is one of the best if you dont wanna go into the £40/50 territory..

Logitech MX518 Gaming-Grade Optical Mouse £35

Logitech G5 Gaming-Grade Laser Mouse £41

Razer Copperhead Tempest Blue 2000dpi High Precision Gaming Mouse £40

and for a microsoft one, Microsoft Laser Mouse 6000 £35 this is a nice light mouse and felt very accurate.

It depends what you like really, Logitech make some good mice and iv never had a problem with my 510, the Intelli Mouse 3.0 is also a nice mouse aswell.

Another vote for the 510.
Great response, good looks, nice shape.
Loads of buttons to map very commands from games in too. You can also easily remap them to different functions within general windows use that are really handy. For example I have back, forward, pageup and pagedown on my mouse. Makes browsing the web really quick and painless.

I assume you're a right hander. Logitech can suck my eggs for not making left-handed gaming rodents!

I have a predator universal mouse with 5 buttons and 1600dpi/800dpi switch on top. Its pretty darned good for £16.

MX310, but I have small hands and the 5 series are too big for me to use comfortably.

I am an avid Quake player and find MX310 + QPad Large to be the nicest combo I've ever used, and I've tried almost all mats and all mice.

MX310 is universal too (left and right handed)

Ya I don't get it, you can buy mice that even go up to 2500DPI etc for like £20 but Razer copperhead £50.

Suppose the "gaming" tag that goes with it gives them high demand so they can charge high prices.

I just bought MS's latest cruddy laser based one and its fine OEM for about £15

plenty of buttons and no "gaming" tag to make it cost a bomb.

I got a diamondback ages ago for less than £20, would've thought you could get one of those even cheaper now :)

I had a MX-500 before, but I find the diamondback to be a lot better and comfortable to use :)

another vote here :)

i've just recently bought an MX1000 and i find it much nicer having wireless, but i still use my MX510 in work...

MX510 all the way, i've used a mates Razor (not sure which one, but it was kinda flat?) for a couple of weeks before and it just doesnt cut it for me compared to my long term Logitech beasty :D.

Had it for over 3 years now and its still going strong, i'll probably get an MX518 when it does finally give up the ghost. :)

I've got two of the MX510 . One of them has given up after 6 months of CS:S abuse , I think the wire has snapped just outside the mouse body.
