ok about to buy a new gaming PC from ** Linking to competitors is strictly prohibited - Please read FAQs regarding rules **a custom PC website i found. just need advice on processors. I have a decent budget of £1200 should i go for intel or amd. and is sandybridge CPUs better than bloomfield? thanks

i would remove the competitor link if i were you. they arent allowed here ;)

for a gaming PC at £1200, get an intel i5 2500k (sandybridge). they destroy the previous processors

*edit*
wow, that site is pretty poor, £300 to upgrade from an i3 2100k to an i7 2600k, and no i5 2500K in site.

overclockers for the win
*2nd edit*
go for this PC: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FS-176-OE
with the XFX radeon 6950 and the 120GB SSD and windows 7 home premium. the 8GB ram upgrade isnt needed for gaming, so unless you will be doing heavy video editing, photoshop, 3D modelling, etc then stick with 4GB

These people are vastly overpriced and will rip you off. Besides, mentioning competitors is against forum rules.

Buy a Titan Spinosaur from here and add to it Windows 7 HP, a 120GB SSD and a GTX 570. Still within budget and will beat the daylights out of anything from ByB.
