Hi,

I posted a couple of months ago, but since then my circumstances have changed. (sorry if this is in the wrong section btw)

I am now looking to spend around £700- £1000 on a decent gaming PC which I can keep for a good few years.

I like the idea of a SSD as my dad just got one and it seems amazing!

I have a keyboard/mouse, headset, speakers, monitor and windows, so just need a pc.

I will be assembling it myself to save money so I can get a better spec.

Thanks for your help :)

Thanks, i will look into them :)

the gtx 670 is a good 20-25% boost in fps compared to the 7850
sammy 830 is arguably better than the crucial m4
620w is no man's land with regards to power, too much for 1 card, too little for 2. if you wanna run dual cards in the future, 750w is about right, also, the psu you chose is non modular, so you'll have extra wires at the bottom of your case. not a big problem for some, up to you ;p
samsung greens are good ram, but waaaaaaay overpriced
shinobi comes with only 1 fan, you'll need to buy 2-3 more for better cooling (if you wanna)
but cases are subjective, i like fractal cases ;p the zalman z9 is a better alternative. best value case around
true spirit has about the same performance as the hyper 612s, whilst being 10 quid cheaper

Why the 750W PSU? That mobo doesnt do SLI or Xfire. 550W is enough for any single GPU :/ Again there is a faster optical drive for the same price.

I know everyone here loves gigabyte for the uk based warranty but i'll use the Asrock just to be different. I like the styling and it does do SLI/Xfire properly, although it is a mATX mobo. This shinobi case has a window and two fans installed.

Thanks for all the specs. I don't actually need an optical drive so I'm thinking about getting 16gb or ram?
I would like to be able to multi task well.

I have no real plan to upgrade the pc in the near future so sli isn't important to me.

Thanks for all you help!

None what so ever. I have heard good things about the antec 300?

It was good about 4 years ago, these days it seriously looks its age.

Also dont get the Asrock board suggested by Honoseuri, its crap.

Thats a nice spec.

You're welcome :)

8GB of RAM is ample for gaming purposes, you can always add more later if you want to, it's a dead easy upgrade to do. Just make sure this optical drive you have is sata.....might seem like a silly question but I have to ask.

If you dont want to dual card the GPU that's cool, saves you cash on the mobo and PSU. The Asrock mobo isn't crap (unlike stulids spelling), it's a compromise between the entry level Gigabyte Z77-D3H and the SLI/Xfire capable Z77X-D3H.

Idleman did a nice spec. That PSU has been "due" for ages :( The 612S is out of stock, I would have used this in my earlier spec had it been available. The fractal case is nice indeed and also has sound dampening material. Most people who have the case do recommend adding another fan or two though.

Kept the Shinobi (this one is on offer) as you seemed to like it having spec'd it yourself. This is a single GPU setup. You've had plenty of component suggestions now, so you just need to find a case you really like and I'm sure the next build you post will be great :D
