Hi,

As I'm out the loop on whats the thing to get today, could someone please spec me a desktop gaming PC, £800 - £1000? (I could stretch budget a little if needed)

I will require OS.

Also I have this still going strong - Samsung B2430H 24" Widescreen LCD Monitor, purchased back in 2010, stick with it still?

Thanks

M

Thanks Stulid,

Just a couple of things,

- I see a lot of R9 390 vs 970, what would be the preferred choice and why? what makes people choose one over the other?

- worth replacing the Samsung B2430H 24" ?

Thanks
M

The monitor while being 1080p is ancient by today's standards.

I think you would enjoy a nice 144Hz screen after using that for so long.

Any monitor suggestions based on the spec suggested? I've had a look at the monitor section but no idea what to get, £150 - £250 price area, may look to get another later next year for dual setup.

There are cheaper GTX970 from EVGA/Zotac at £269.

Case with a window to show the goods inside?

If you go with one of the cheaper GTX 970 as suggested, then you can spend the savings on a better modular psu. It will make cable management easier.

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £893.06
(includes shipping: £11.10)

Thanks Lee,

Taking the parts already selected what would be good "small" case for this? I forgot that I should really ensure that the case is small due to limited room. Don't want it been an eye sore. :) thanks

Might take the plunge and buy some of what was suggested above tomorrow,

but I'm stuck with a case decision,

I have limited room and it must be black,

are these 2 any good?

- Define S Midi Tower Case - Black Window
- Obsidian 350D Windowed Micro ATX Case

Thx
