Hey guys,
After having my current rig for many years I'm finally looking to get a brand new one. I've currently picked out the following items but wish to bring the total down to around £800:
YOUR BASKET
1 x Intel Core i5-4670K 3.40GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor - Retail £197.99
1 x Sapphire HD 7870 GHz Edition 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (11199-16-20G) £189.95
1 x Samsung 250GB SSD 840 SATA 6Gb/s Basic - (MZ-7TD250BW) £141.95
1 x Gigabyte Z87-HD3 Intel Z87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard £95.99
1 x Akasa Venom 550w Modular '80 Plus' Power Supply £53.99
1 x BitFenix Shinobi USB3.0 Gaming Case - Black £49.99
1 x TeamGroup Elite Black 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C11 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (TED38GM1600HC11DC01) £49.99
1 x Silverstone Argon SST-AR01 CPU Cooler - 120mm £28.99
1 x LG GH24NSB0 24x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM £17.99
Total : £840.92 (includes shipping : £11.75).

At the end of September I'll be buying a second monitor so a graphics card with dual ports would be ideal (unless those splitters are actually worth while?). I don't plan on gaming on both monitors so I expect 2048mb VRAM would be sufficient? My current monitor is 1920x1200 and I expect the second one I purchase will be the same resolution. I'd also like to overclock the CPU hence the fan so I hope the motherboard is up to it.
I'm willing to cut back on most items and even spend slightly more on others if it's going to produce best bang for buck although I wouldn't like to go less than 200gb for the SSD as I'll be dual-booting Windows and Ubuntu. My current PC has served me very well and that's thanks to listening to the community so I'd really appreciate any feedback on my current basket.
Cheers
