Hey guys,

Know you get a lot of these but I need your advice on this set-up.

The set up I was thinking is

Intel Core 2 Quad Pro Q6600 (1333MHz FSB)

Antec P182 Super Midi Tower Case

I already have an 8800GT and two Raptors.

I went for the CPU, mobo and ram coz I’ve read they were the best for the price and overclocking. But I was thinking about change the mobo to the Asus P5K Pro which is on offer atm. Also I’m not sure about the PSU or Case.

I’m on a bit of a tight budget so any thoughts would be a massive help!

Cheers for the help

you could run the system on a HX520, but the 620 is better if you think you may upgrade or add a lot more parts such as WC or use Crossfire X or something similar.

pc2-6400 ram is good for getting your cpu up to 3.6 GHz before the ram needs to be OCed.

no point going for a guranteed to OC to 3.x GHz cpu, as 99% of q6600s can be Oced to 3GHz with ease. get a normal one and a tuniq tower instead.

Stick with the premium, better layout better board :)

If all you do is game I would go for a fast dual core over a quad, but if you plan to keep the pc for longer than a year it maybe best to go for the quad for future proofing.

yeah, its the same cpu, only one come with some gurantee from OCuk saying that if it doesnt reach that speed its a faulty product of something like that.
