Hi guys I want to build a killer gaming rig what do you think of this
newpcx58.jpg

Do'nt know about the Psu but I want something modular and the RAM perhaps better at same price.

You can get faster 2000MHz cas9 ram for an extra £30, and i reckon your MB is overkill for just the 920?

Plus have you forgotten your G card, or do you have your own?

1. weres your graphics card
2. psu's overkill go for a 800w or ssomething about there
3. look at corsair for the ram

Couple of questions:

Whats your maximum budget?
Do you need a monitor?
Do you need an operating system?
Have you got any preferred components that you absolutely want in your build?

I want the X58 Calssified absilutley, the 920 i7 and the raven case. About the GFx card I have my own it does the job well but not high end. Budget say 1200 quid No os getting the windows 7 No monitor and for the psu Iwant something modular

Any reason why you want the x58 classified so much? You'll probabily get 5% more performance out of your 920 with it than a £200 X58 mobo

That would be your money going down the drain, and you said you have a graphics card which just about does the job. Why not just cut down on the mobo, and get a better gpu? And better other components.

Hey dude don't get the classified, i was about to fall down the same *wrong* path... its way overpriced! get a cheaper mobo or wait a little longer until the new EVGA boards come out.

Here is my try based on your requirements:

To echo what others have said: its the best board, but other components come into play before the board will be brought any where near its limits so there is no performance gain.

In your first post, you said you want a killer gaming rig, I must emphasise - THIS IS NOT IT.

To get a good gaming rig you want a nice cpu, nice mobo, nice RAM and a very nice graphics card. This system will likely be a similar speed to your old rig - because its limited by your "not high end" graphics card. If I were you - ditch the EVGA classified - get the lovely Gigabyte UD5 and spend the money you saved on a 4890.
