As with a lot of the threads on this forum.

I've kept hold of my i5 2500k and now we know what AMD have offered we(you guys:p) can make up our mind on what to buy.

So current spec:

Intel i5 2500k @ 4.0Ghz
Corsair Hydro H110 280mm High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler
AsRock Z68 Extreme4 Gen3
Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3
Zotac AMP GTX 1070 *keeping*
Sound Blaster Z *keeping*
Seasonic Platnum 1000W *keeping*
250gb + 1TB Samsung Solid State Drive *keeping*
6Gb HDD *keeping*
Corsair Obsidian 750D Full Tower Case *keeping*

Monitor - Acer Predator XB271HU 27" @165hz *keeping*

I mention the monitor as I will be gaming @ 1440p

So needed are:

CPU
MOBO
RAM
Thermal Paste
CPU cooler(maybe)
Case fans 3x 140mm (whatever the quietest ones are, and no lights)

Extras but not essential:
PCI SSD. I like the idea of a 256GB PCI SDD for my C: drive replacing my current SATA SSD but only if its worth it.

New rig will be for gaming and streaming, with a little office work and web browsing.

All my gaming is done at 1440p
Mostly playing FPS
Streaming at 1080p
Overclocking: I know I overclocked my 2500k but that was just changing the multiplier, I wouldn't like to do much more complicated than that. I DO want higher than the 4Ghz than I already have.

My PC is connected through Ethernet so a WIFI MOBO is not needed.

Budget: Not really got one but we'll say £1000 to give you a cap. You don't need to spend all of it :p

Thanks in advance

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £764.03 (includes shipping: £11.10)

Though coming from ASRock, you may prefer their boards, not sure when they launch but I know their website has the boards listed

Silent loop is... Silent. Set pump to 100% on a system fan header with zero rpm warning. Connect rad fans to cpu header.
Then two Silent wing fans at the front.. just set them to 80% constant.. you won't hear them but have mass of static pressure and airflow for prob one of 3 of the quietest fans on the market ... No RGB !
Also, ultra board isn't to much RGB like it's £££ siblings . Pre order hear and very low numbers in a few shops . Ultra has very aggressive pricing

I know you havent had an AMD cpu since your Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4200+, but id go for orbitals all day :) Mobo is in stock elsewhere.
Mech keyboards are not very quiet, check out what big streamers are using, the Logitech G910 Orion Spectrum RGB Mechanical Gaming Keyboard is popular but they get them for free !!

I do have a concern with the CPU cooler.

This is from the OcUK site
**For an AM4 bracket please go to the manufacturer support page and email them proof of purchase of the cooler and proof of purchase for the Ryzen CPU. We will try our best to get some brackets but you should contact the manufacturer first. *

I don't really want to bee waiting weeks for a bracket to arrive.

??? The silent loop has AM4 bracket in the box.. made by Alphacool and supplied as standard. Even their Dark Rock 4 kits have AM4 brackets since it was released last month :)

Hmmm Just spoke to OcUK on the phone. It appears that they have had a mixed batch before which did not have the included bracket so they put the note on.

The review from "Chaoss" 18/04/18 claims he didn't get his :/

But I'll roll the dice.

Or should I go for the air cooling Southernorth suggested. As it is quieter :s

I am tempted to go for the Asus ROG Crosshair VII x470 motherboard.
1) Because I prefer Asus as a brand
2) It has plentiful USB 3 ports which would free up at least one of my two USB hubs

Any other benefits in that board as its over £100 more expensive?

Hero is a cracking board, though it's WiFi sucks really badly so don't go for that option . Has same VRM IR units as the Aorus 7 but controller is a little different . Either way solid unit .

If you prefer a certain brand and happy with them in the past the stick to what you know best and experience. I tend to quote gigabyte more just for rep presence on here and UK RMA . ROGUK are a nice lot to chat to if you have the means .

Either way, should have a solid product, and get some pics up. Also the other , I do like to see people posting up their rigs :D

Air coolers are always solid as if they fail, it's only a fan that goes. In theory the air cooler should be quieter at max rpm due to it using silent wings and the AIO using Pure wings. If it was just down to pump noise, the silent loops is 99% silent .
Also, the dark rock 4 series is a damn sight easier to mount now !!!!

Will that Air cooler cost you 1st ram slot with that high ram ?

Edit, Just got solo chicken dinner achievement eventulally !!!

Thanks to everyone that helped.
I went with this in the end
My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £992.87 (includes shipping: £0.00)

A combination of everyone's input

Hopefully will arrive Tuesday.

I also got another Corsair K70 LUX RGB silent on a seperate order.

My God I've spent a fortune! :s

Got some snaps up when it's built :D
Should look good :)

I believe Asus has a dedicated Dan pump header which runs it at 100% by default. Use this for the Silent loop pump and the AIO fans into the CPU fan header :)

Leave pump at 100% with 0rpm warning :)

What’s a Dan pump? :p
But yeah if the crosshairs is like the Maximus(intel equivalent) then there is an AIO pump header next to the cpu fan header(I believe I’ve seen it mentioned in the review videos I’ve seen).

All built, took everything out and cleaned/polished.

Its lovely a quiet! :D

Any idea what setting to change to get the most out of my system? or at least a guide.
The RAM is slow considering its 3200

Looking good. Asus doesn't call XMP ... XMP.. something like DOCH or along those lines , should enable ram to work at rated speed and it's timings
