I need a new gaming router the current one I have is some 5 years old netgear. I would like the router to be some sort of dynamic router, so that it can change IP address, I'm not really good with routers so I don't know. Basically I just want a good router with good features and reach with a good distance. The one I have right now keeps losing connection every 1 hour or so. My budget is around £70 at the very max. thanks ;)

Before you go spending money, what router do you have now? what model of Netgear is it? I have an older Netgear DG834GT which is a flawless router and outdoes even modern day routers.

Are you sure your hour dropping is not an internal issue or a line issue?

Changing IP address, you get your IP address from your ISP, you will either be on a dynamic IP in which case you will have a new IP address from your ISP when you re-boot you router and they lease you another IP, or you may be on a package with a static IP address in which case your ISP will give you the same IP each time.

What differentiates a normal router from a 'gaming router'? (rhetorical question)

The Asus RT-N56U Black Diamond is well regarded if you can stretch your budget.

More in budget the TP-Link TL-WR1043ND also seems to be liked.

With Virgin you will keep getting the same IP unless you disconnect everything long enough for the DHCP lease to expire (could be hours, could be days).
