New Gaming Spec - please help

Hi all,

Just wondering if some folk out there would be kind enough to spec me a gaming pc. Listed below are a couple of things I'd like it to include or unsure about. I'm thinking of a budget around £2000 but aware my requirements may exceed this amount. Budget does not include mouse or keyboard.

GTX 780ti
i5 or i7?
8 or 16Gb RAM? (is 1600MHz much slower than 2666MHz?)
SSD (for OS/ Office/ Music Software/ Games (a few))
1TB HD (fast)
Fans or Liquid cooling? - emphasis on less noise = better
Small form factor case
27inch 120Hz Monitor
Windows 7

Hopefully that's enough info to go on but if not, please don't hesitate to ask.

Can stretch to a mid sized case if the 780ti needs more space to keep cool but still hoping to keep it reasonably small.

All comments welcome!

if you are going for the gtx780ti then go for the i7 if you can afford it..

to be fair, go for a mini itx case and mini itx board, it will save a lot of space and is not too much more expensive these days as a mainboard can be picked up for around 100 and the bit fenix prodigy case for around 65ish

8gb mem is good enough, but 16gb is more than plenty for the future

go for the h80i water cooling unit if possible, will fit nicely inside the prodigy and will cool an i7 all day long

128 or if you can afford it 256gb ssd, a plextor one would be nice

windows 7 64bit pro

seagate barracude 1tb 7200.12 64mb cache hdd

about all you need for a rig that will play games and last you a few years

What would I need to turn this set-up into a type of custom Steam Machine? And by that I mean having the main computer in one room and being able to stream games into the living room?

Can it be done!?

Another basic computer/ HTPC, some software and an fast LAN solution orrrrrr just get yourself an Nvidia Shield :D
