new gaming spec

i suggest this for a little less :)

Tbh a £1500 system won't perform that much better than an £800 Core i5 system... assuming they both use the same graphics card. (for gaming)

Do you know what you're spending £257 on a motherboard for? A £130~ motherboard will basically give you the same framerates in games. So what is all the extra money going towards?

If you have money to burn, I guess it doesn't matter.

This mobo will do you fine: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-159-GI it easily overclocks to 4GHz and is rock solid. Perfect for gaming.

I think the Corsair HX850 is overkill... Get a Corsair TX750. It's not modular, but with the Antec 1200 you can basically hide all the cables away behind the scenes and it will look just as neat and tidy as a modular PSU. Sure you will need to spend a little bit more time on cable managment, but if it saves you money... why not! It will save you about £40.

A 750W corsair will easily supply enough power to that system. You could even add another 5850/5870 graphics card for Crossfire and it would be fine. (A single 5870 will do you just fine for a 22" monitor though)

The rest of the system is fine. Though I'm not sure about the RAM! You might want to look into that some more, just to make sure.

(About changing PSU to non-modular TX750)

Consider this RAM: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-169-CS&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=1389

You could even consider an Antec 902 if you want to save more money! ^^ The 1200 is really just a little bit taller and spacious. The airflow in the 902 is still awesome, and there is enough space. And you're only using one hard-drive! A 902 will be enough imo.

Also: make sure you get a Corsair H50 to cool your CPU.
