New GC - old components ok?

Hey guys

Ive decided to invest in a ATI HD 4870 Series (havent decided the exact model yet)

Im currently using

Asus A8N-SLi Premium nForce4 SLi (Socket 939) PCI-Express Motherboard
Corsair 2GB DDR XMS3200C2PT TwinX (2x1GB)
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4200+ (Socket 939)

I assume the GC should work with the mobo?

im also wondering what the best mobo and processor is (the intel one?) i just need a mobo/ram/processor combo

The graphics card will work but the rest of your system would be a bottleneck for it and slow it down.

As for the motherboard and processor, it depends on what you do to what processor you choose, and also depends what you plan to do with the rest of you pc in the future as to what you do with your motherboard...

So what do you use your pc for in short terms ^^
 
Yep any of the E8*** series processors would be good if you are mainly gaming, best motherboards to get would be a p45 chipset one. The asus p5q series are good from my experience
 
I also have a 500-600watt psu (ill check when i get home, ill only be runing 1 HD and dvd drive. im assuming this will be sufficent ? :)
