also im only running a i7 920 on and P6T SE motherboard, i dont want to spend 100's upgrading but is it worth me getting a new processor? i dont even know what my board will take now im so out of touch with it all
 
i'm only thinking of buying a gfx card at the moment because of the issues im getting with drivers on windows 8.1

My PSU is a Hi-Power Black 800W and i have a Titan Fenrir cpu cooler
 
It's the most important component you'll ever buy for your pc, though I'm not as clued up as some on here, so I'd wait to see what they might say first. Imo, it could either be a budget brand or, as I say, just some make I haven't heard of.
 
ok thanks, i think i'll order the gfx card tomorrow and stick with the cpu as you've said, i'll do some research on the psu and maybe i'll upgrade that if i need to at some point as well.
