As the title says I have about £140 to spend on a graphics card to go with my opteron 144 and 1gig of ram on a pci express board. At the moment I only have a small monitor so max resolution is 1024x768 but I plan to get a 17" later this year. So I am looking at a nvidia 6800GS especially the XFX GeForce 6800 GS Extreme XXX Edition 256MB which is on offer this week or from Ati X800 GTO16 X800XL, X800GTO2, which is the best? Would a 6800GS be overkill on a 15" monitor, should I look at the XFX 6800XT instead?

Both the below are quicker cards but lack pixel shader 3 compliance.
PowerColor ATI Radeon X850 XT 256MB GDDR3 TV-Out/DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (GX-037-PC) £158.57
Sapphire ATI Radeon X800 GTO² 256MB DDR3 TV-Out/DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (GX-101-SP) £138.59
My X850 overclocks very nicely.

Anyone else have any views, will shadel model 3 be needed for next generation of games, would I be better of getting a 6800gs?
