Hi Guys..

You can see my setup below if you look at my sig at the bottom of this post..

Im just wondering whether its worth upgrading my gfx card from the Ati x1800xt to either a GTX or 2900???

I usually play the games at 1920x1200 so I havnt really got a clue on what to do?

Cheers for any input guys

Does your x1800xt give you the performance that you are happy with?

If not and you have the money go for a GTX, it will be the perfect card for your res.

go nuts and get sli gtx's!!!! tis what i did and have yet to see a real big gain in the extra 500 quid within my baby.

depends what you intend to play

1800 is a bit old now but will still play bf2142 on med to high be it with lower frame rates.....

personally i would go with a 2900 and expect the drivers to show the increased power over the next few months... 8800gtx or 8800 ultra is too much of a jump to be honest from what you have got atm and probally not worth the cash.... :)

Too much of a jump? If you can afford it you might as well get the best for your money! "Too much of a jump" is the worst reason I've ever heard to not get a card. :p

Anyway, GTX/Ultra for that res, definately. My GTS stuggles a bit at that resolution on certain games.

lol i based that on well if he is happily playing with games on that card atm then there is no need to buy the best there is as he simply won't use it lol.

though if you intened on playing games your 1800 won't even attempt atm then by all means go all out ;)
