Hello peeps,

I am in need of a new GFX card.

I have a Shuttle XPC SN37P2 and currently run a MSI 7900gto.

Now I would like a 8800GTS 640mb or more but will it fit and will the power supply be enough...
Also I belive the PCI-E slots are only 8x and some cards need 16x ??

Then I thought maybe 2 x ATI Radeon HD 3850 Pro 256MB's..

Again will these fit and so-on...

Thanks

For a start, get an 8800gt, its cheaper than a gts and a hell of a lot faster ;), the psu in your system should be enough to power the card, happy gaming:)

I was thinking about a 8800 GT but they allways seem to be out of stock :(..

But...

I like the thought of 2 x ATi's 3850 so please Stephen B keep us updated... :)
Mine maywell be a P1 as well,.

I bought it from here but my login no longer works since they changed the system :(

Thanks all

OK, wasn't as straight forward as I'd hoped, biggest issue is the foul condition found at the power header for fan on graphics card where it hits a large vertical capacitor near the mosfet heatsink on the shuttle [pics later], so had to flex the card and ease it by the cap to get it fully seated in the inner pci-e slot on mobo [these slots default to 8x btw, not the full 16x]

Also I previously had an 8600gt in my system so after 1st trial and instabilities which I couldn't clear , I decided to re-instal OS

good news is with my e6600 clocked to a safe 3.0 gig, and my cards auto-tuned to 759/954 in overdrive I got a score of 14125 3dm2k6, iirc my 8800gt in my other shuttle wiith a stock e6850 scored a smidgin under 12k [Zotac 660/1800]

my memory on cards is being held back with the confines of the shuttle and could probably clock higher, latest ati drivers may also yield a bit more, but thats enough for tonight :)
