Hi all - whats seems to be the best bang for buck upgrade coming from a 2080ti (with 5900x cpu) - currently running triple monitors 1080p for sim racing and flight sims.

Would like to go 4080 but 470 and the super variants maybe better options to save some £££.

Seriously its like Mcdonalds pricing at the moment with gpus .. with super models only a small amount more but are they worth it.

Think I would like to stick with Nvidia too.

4070 Super = yessiree
4070 Ti Super = YESSSS111!!!Eleven
4080 Super = yea

Does depend on the price though, but you said a small amount, so...

Would definitely recommend going higher than a 4070 if you can, the 2080 Ti is still a strong card and progress ain't been great.

Thanks - weird how some of the 4080 are more expensive that the 4080 supers am I missing something?
Few prices quickly grabbed from OCUK just now

4070 super does seem a nice sweet spot.

4080 super £889
4080 £899
4070 ti super £769
4070 super £569
4070 £488

No, I think it has been like that since release.

4070 £488
I'd say this is best around £450 (it competes with the 7800 XT), since it needs to justify being slower than the Super. Though, I wouldn't recommend buying it from a 2080 Ti anyway (TPU's GPU database says it is just 28% faster).

4070 super £569
They're fast coming down to under £550, which I think is necessary to make them worth buying over the 4070. They compete with the 7900 GRE.

4070 ti super £769
They're expensive, but there are some much better deals floating around. The 16GB of VRAM is always going to give it a premium, but the 7900 XT has 20GB and is cheaper, so buying one of these much above £700 is difficult to describe as a good deal.

Thanks for that - will have a think.

I've upgraded from a rx480 (don't ask) to a Gigabyte Eagle 4070S this week and can't stop smiling. I'd say 4070S is the sweet spot for the 4000 series when you consider how much wattage it uses compared to the Ti for a very similar performance. Through a contact at work I managed to get it for £420 which is a bargain compared to RRP pricing. Can't get it that price for anyone else but its nice to feel smug :p
