Okay after trying days upon days i've decided i'll take my new card back and get another, I've got roughly £270 to get a high end card, I play at 1680, 1050 Not been lucky with the 4870 so looking for something with abit more 'oomph' any suggestions? System spec is Asus P5Q Pro Mobo Q6600 overclocked to 3.5 ghz 4 g geil black dragon ram OCZ 700 W PSU

Thanks.

GTX280 would be perfect....if you can find one for under £270 (there are still some around). If not, and you don't want a 4870, your only choice is the Nvidia GTX260.

Thanks for the reply, Unfortunately ATI has put me off them now (what with spending £400 and being dodgey) The GTX280 looks like a nice card i'll be doing abit of reading into it.

I've heard a lot of good things about the X2 series of cards, Having said that i don't want to have to go through the sheer hassle of having problems again :(

Indeed just annoyed that i splashed out so much and only going to get half back is all so bit wary of what to get next. :(

The gtx280/285 is probably your best bet though you just missed the offer when the 280s were selling at £220. A gtx260 is the only card definately in your price range if you can't find the 280 below £270 though I feel its more of a sidestep then a huge upgrade.
