New Gigabit modem router?

Baisically, i've always just used the modems/routers given to me by the ISPs, and my current router, a Netgear DG834, has lasted about 8 years. But now the connection has been increasingly intermittent, and also the network in my house has expanded greatly with multiple devices leeching off it.
I think its time for some N wireless, and gigabit connectivity, but I really have no idea what to look for, any help?

The Netgear DGN3500 seems pretty good. I've been using one for a couple of months without any major problems. The Cisco WAG320N is also worth a look. I preferred the Netgear for what I wanted but my next-door neighbour now has the Cisco and is very happy with it.

If you've got a load of wired devices then adding a gigabit switch is a good move. All my wired devices are on the switch, letting the router get on with just routing and wireless.

That switch isn't Gigabit is it?

No it isn't, think he meant this one.

I've just moved to gigabyte, got one of my brother which was really loud which I replaced the fan on (electrocuting myself in the process).

They are amazing, such a leap in performance, like 10 -> 100 had that wow factor :D

Google for "netgear DGN3500 problems" - this device seems to have problems with regular disconnects despite costing > £100. Netgear do for some obscure reason seem to have problems with ADSL2+
It's done that a couple of times, always in the early morning, but not since I installed the latest firmware (yet!).

Thanks. I actually have the 8-port version of that which OcUK don't seem to stock.

Thanks for the replys, yeah i was looking at the DGN3500, but the poor reviews kinda put me off :/ But then again most reviews have said that the new firmware update fixes it.
I'm with Talk Talk at the moment and getting awfull bandwidth throttling, I phoned help and support and they blamed it on my router (Idiots) so I tried the one which they supplied, a god-awful d-link piece of crap which gets the exact same problem.
I think i'll wait till the end of the month, just to be sure I dont need my phoneline replaced -.-
