New Gmail??!?!?!?!?!

What the hell have they done to it.

New tabs called Primary, Social, Promotions, Forums etc.

My Nexus 4 told me I have an email, I have a 1 mail notification but when I go in to the gmail app it tells me there are no emails there !!

But I don't want my emails sorting cos 99% of the time they are redundant and need deleting, now I have to go in to tabs to go and delete emails.

Why can't they just keep everything in the Inbox and let me set my own rules.
