New GPU - £350 budget

Hi All,

I'm looking to get a new GPU to replace my knackered GTX 570.

I've got a budget of £350 so wouldn't really want to go higher than that.

I'm very tempted to get an AMD card as I always had one before the GTX 570 and the crysis 3 + bioshock deal is tempting.

I've been looking on the OCUK store and had a browse and could someone tell me the difference between these cards?

and

Is the difference just the cooler?

For my budget whats a better purchase? One of the above cards or a 680?

Running the following: i7 930 @ stock ( going to OC to 4ghz) 6gb xms3, xfx 750w black. I'm planning on upgrading to haswel in the summer but only upgrading the GPU now as my current one is broke.

Edit going to be playing at 1080, with the intention of going higher in the future. Game wise I'll be playing Hitman, Crysis 3, Bioshock, Company of heroes 2 ( when its out) and Shogun 2 and rome total war 2

I imagine it wouldn't be hard overclocking the one with the custom cooler with no OC.

Ok heres the question,

What to get this:
EVGA GeForce GTX 680 Superclocked 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card - £380

or
Sapphire HD 7970 3072MB PCI-Express Graphics Card - £320.

I'm just trying to work out which would be the better purchase.

Edit: didn't even notice the HIS one that looks really cool.

By reviews you will see that it is a overclocking beast and temps are probably the lowest, it would a better option if you are scared of changing the cooler and you would like to OC if you dont wnat to OC then buy gigabyte, if you are not scared of changing the cooler and to OC then pick that MSI refrence and artic cooler.

The price isnt worth it to be honest... If you are buying 7970 then only GHz edition as it has thaiti x2 better processor, which gave a good gain in performance and stability ;)
Performance is very similiar, depends what games you play.
If you really want nvidia then this would be a good choice as it's quieter and cooler then refrence designs.

Tell me what are your favorite titles

Ok cool if the performance is very similar I'll pick one up then :)

Now just to choose which one lol. Going to have to measure wither or not the HIS one will fit in my case

Title wise,

Shogun Total War,
Dawn of war 2,
Company of Heroes
Planetside 2.
BF3 really

GTX 670 does look nice but if the 7970 has similar performance to the 680 and I can get 2 free games its very very tempting.

Only thing that worries me is fitting the HIS in my case.

It's your decision, although if you decide to go nvidia then pick 670 save some cash for beer or whisky!
7970 GHz is slightly faster in most titles, your money your decision ;)
I own HIS IceQ 7950 got it oced to 1100/1500 in demanding games like witcher 2 or crysis 3 and the temps go up to 70-72c max, BF3 the temp doesnt go above 64-65c fan speed 50-56% if it goes over 70c then its 60%.

Going to order tomorrow but just going to read up on some info first.

Should hopefully be able to sell my replacement 570 and get some cash back too

So after reading some videos it seems that the 680 and the 7970 are very very similar so since the 7970 is cheaper I'll pick that up :)

So I'm going to either get this:
Gigabyte ghz edition

His Ghz edition

or the sapphire one

My question is which manufacturers have the best RMA?
