consolidating 3 gpus into one so could almost be a free change

gpus im looking at are
290
7950

my 2 6950s were voltage unlockd so i would also like this as a essential feature

the 290 comes with plenty of games, bf4, but the coolers are all reference, not sure what to do

Overall I would probably wait if I were you until the 290 comes with third party coolers - unless your watercooling in which case why wait.

I have just gone to 7950 crossfire but I doubt that I would have if I had not owned one already - it was a fair bit cheaper for me to add a 2nd 7950 than to sell my existing and buy a 290 (which is what I was thinking of) - No problems or regrets yet :), but if I could have sold my card and only had to add the amount I paid for the second 7950 to buy the 290 I would without doubt have done so - single card , more future-proof and could always buy a second later :D

thats what i did with the 6950, could have stepped up but got 2

its just the cooler issue holding me back, i know how noisey a ref card can be, but that unlocked to 6970 so was worth it, not WCing! too much hassle!

i have decommissioned a spare pc i wasnt using to fund this as well as the gpus from current desktop
