What u guys think? Dont really know whats good but ati cards seem to have way better spec than nvidia unless im missing something.

Dont want to spend anymore than £400

Also looked in the manuel for my mobo and it says if u use duel card setup both are pci-e x8 instead of one x16?

Just checked it on the site and it says it has 2 pci-e x16 slots so im pretty confused lol

Cheers

you cannot do sli on that mobo as far as i know only crossfire , and using a pci-e @ 8x + 8x will not make much differance tbh . with £400 you could get a gtx480 and have change

Ah fair enough all the mobos i looked at said crossfire ready just assumed they could do sli too. That works that one out then i think ill get the ati card.

Cheers mate

The specs of the 5870 are a lot higher than the 480gtx tho and £100 less is there something im missing cos that doesnt seem right lol

the 5870 is a very good card but the gtx480 is a little faster/newer , but it depends how much you want to spend tbh and what res you game at . myself i am running a 5830 which is not a bad card but their is better , you may want to wait till around november time as the new amd cards should be out

Well the 480 is £40 more than the 5870 im lookin at which im not bothered about really. As i said i can spend up to £400 if the 480 will give me better performance then ill spend the extra, but if its not going to much then i prefur the look of the ati card.

Tbh i dont know what i want lol just whatever will give me best performance in my setup. My screen res on my old pc was at 1920x1080 so probably be that.

I built my pc yday and have onboard gpu atm no chance i can wait till november :p

which would you prefer ? , dual gfx cards or a single gfx card ? . what about 2 of these 5850's if you want a crossfire setup or any 5870 will serve you well if you prefer a single card (also use less power)

well tbh a single card will give you less driver problems , i had 2x 5770's and when it worked it would match/beat a 5870 in some games . but due to crossfire issues i went for a 5830 (wanted a 5870 but not enough funds lol) , game play is now smooth with a single 5830 . i got a lot of stuttering in some games which is annoying when your getting good fps , tbh you might be better with a 5870 and if you wanted at a later date when the price's have fallen you could get a second 5870

Well its between that and the mw2 his icooler one and theres not much in it as far as i can see except the extra year warranty yh. Why which would you go for? And why?

myself i would either go with the asus or sapphire or even the powercolor , never had a HIS brand but i hear they are supposed to be good

Yh once you get rid of the crappy mw2 sticker i think the his looks the nicest. Meh ive decided on a card ill worry about the brand when i come to ordering :p theres not much between any of them tbh so i will probably go his just on looks and its slightly lower price.
